Marriage, but a more appropriate term for legal and religious use. It is the proper term for the sacrament of marriage, and refers more to the relationship between husband and wife than to the ceremony or the state of marriage.

Marriage Preparation
The focus of marriage preparation is not centered on planning for the wedding, but on preparing oneself—spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually—for a lifelong union of love in the Lord!
Couples should make arrangements to begin marriage preparation at least 9 to 12 months prior to the proposed date for the wedding. This should allow enough time, after the formal preparation for marriage, for the details of the wedding.
